Description
WWII GERMAN ARMY INFANTRY SOLDIER’S BADGE GROUPING
WWII German Army/Heer Soldier’s Badge Grouping Includes 3×4.75 Inch Photo, Unmarked Silver Infantry Assault Badge, Black Wound Badge Made By Hermann Aurich, Bevo Cap Eagle and Long Term Service Ribbon, All Housed In an 8×6 Inch Riker Mount. Unmarked Infantry Assault Badge remains in Good to Very Good Condition and is of good quality. Constructed of zinc, the badge shows no damage, corrosion or other blemishes and maintains the majority of its silver finish. Pin and “C” clasp remain undamaged and function properly. Black Wound Badge is marked “113,” which signifies the maker Hermann Aurich. Badge remains in Good Condition, showing visible signs of age as well as wear to the black finish. Rear shows soiling and signs of long term storage, but the maker mark remains clearly visible. Bevo cap eagle remains in Good Condition, but shows signs of age, wear and use and appears to have been removed from a field cap. Long term service ribbon remains in Very Good Condition, showing only very minor age and wear, but no other readily apparent blemishes. Photo remains in Very Good Condition with no readily apparent blemishes of any sort. Photo of a gaunt and war weary German soldier remains crystal clear with excellent detail and bears a photo studio name to the rear. We received no information with this grouping when we obtained it and nothing is identified, which leads us to believe that it is most likely collector assembled. Overall, a good looking little grouping that displays very well.
