WWII GERMAN ARMY / HEER OFFICER QUALITY BREAST EAGLE: HAND EMBROIDERED

WWII German army officer’s breast eagle consists of heavy silver bullion thread hand embroidered to dark green wool with black twill backing. Insignia was once a beautiful, very high quality example. Unfortunately the decades have not been all that kind to the piece and it shows clearly visible signs of age, wear, neglect and mothing, but does remain rather solid. We have to rate it as being in Poor to Fair Condition due to the clearly visible blemishes.  Though, by no means perfect, the piece does display quite well when laying flat such as in a case or riker mount. Insignia is a nice size, measuring 3.5 x 1.5 inches and is a good example for the entry level collector or could serve as a “place holder” in your collection until you can find a better one.
