WWI British Mark I, Number 23 Mills Bomb or “Hand Grenade” as Used By British “Tommies” and A Number of US Troops During The “Great War.” Bomb features segmented, EARLY style cast iron body (No 5 & No 23 MKIs & MKIIs) and maintains it’s original leaver, pull ring pin and No 23 MK I brass plug Dated 1916. Body, lever and ring pin remain in Very Good to Excellent Condition with the brass plug remaining in Good Condition, showing some age, wear and light tool marks. Has aged to medium “charcoal” gray/black patina and remains a very well preserved and very attractive early example.
