These recent production, USA Made M2A2 Ammo Cans are considered by many to be the best, most modern design of ammo can available on the surplus market today. The M2A2 is the US Military’s latest variant of the “50 Cal” style ammo can and was recently adopted to replace the aging M2A1 design that was first accepted by the US Military in the 1950s. The M2A2 corrects all the design flaws of the M2A1 by adding a more heavy duty latch and thicker rubber gasket as well as a “no crush” metal lip just above the latching mechanism. Not only these improvements, but being American made and weighing in at a hefty 5.2 pounds per can, allows the M2A2 to be stacked higher, heavier and for much longer periods of time than the M2A1 as the weight is now concentrated on the metal lip other than the rubber gasket. As the M2A2s are currently in use by our military forces, finding them available for purchase in large quantities is no easy task and we were fortunate enough to obtain these from a facility near a local National Guard Armory. ALL cans that we are offering for sale here are in EXCELLENT, NEAR NEW, GENTLY USED CONDITION. They will show some light stack and storage wear as well as a few light scuffs and scrapes, but NO rust, dings, dents or other damage. Many are truly LIKE NEW and do not appear to have ever been used at all. Some will have stickers stating various types of information and some will have painted markings related to various calibers of ammunition.
