WWII US Navy Three “Dog Tag” Set of Aviation Machinist Gilhart Palmer Natvig. AM3 Natvig was an original member of the historic and hard fighting light aircraft carrier, USS Monterey. Original crew members of Navy ships are referred to as “Plank Owners.” Not only did the Monterey see extensive combat in the South Pacific during WWII, Future PRESIDENT Gerald R. Ford, was an officer aboard the ship at the same time as AM3 Natvig and was also a “Plank Owner.” All three tags remain in Very Good to Excellent Condition and are easily researched on Fold3 and/or Ancestry.com.
